The village itself is approximately 87 km from Sofia, so it did not take long for the Zigi team to reach it. We all agree that the road to our destination is one of the most scenic weve ever traveled through.

We gave start of the team building with some traditional Bulgarian dishes  such as smocked pork steak and tarator. And after the refreshing lunch, it was time for fun.

From Bridge Tournaments and board games to the popular Defend the Egg game, we laughed the rest of the day away.

And just like that, it was time for our first dinner.

Like the previous meal, the team opted for typical Bulgarian cuisine, and we were not disappointed. Fresh-gardened vegetables, home-cooked meat and fish, homemade yogurt, goat cheese, and traditional Bulgarian white wine  our dinner was a real feast for the senses.

The surprises continued on the morning after. We woke in the typical mountain weather  fresh but cloudy.

While enjoying our breakfast outdoors, one could not but gaze upon the surrounding green slopes and think how blessed we were to be in the heart of the mountain and enjoy its peace.

It took us a couple of hours to break away from natures spell we were under. Our plan for the day was to visit the famous Bozhenishki Urvich fortress.

It is a famous historical sight in that part of the country. The first records of it point to it as an active unit of the Early Byzantine defense system dating back to around the 5th-6th centuries. But it was between the 13th and 14th centuries, during the peak of the second Bulgarian Empire, when the fortress high wall was erected.

Apart from the breathtaking view that unveils upon reaching the top of the fortress remains, Bozhenishki Urvich is popular for its sevastOgnyans stone inscription. Discovered by pure coincidence, the inscription plays a key role in the stone archive of Medieval Bulgaria.

Once back in the villa, we had the opportunity to try the sauna and the pool.

And for those of us who needed to steal some time alone with our thoughts, the guest house offered something special  a small lake with an elaborate wooden bridge.

When the time came for us to go home, we felt a bit saddened that we had to leave this magical place and return back to the bustling city life. However, well be back again!
