Introduction

This webinar presented ZigOps, a modern data integration platform designed to simplify and automate the synchronization of ITSM and DevOps systems. The focus was on showing how ZigOps acts as a data integration tool that enables seamless connectivity and real-time data exchange between commonly used enterprise platforms, all through a no-code, UI-based approach.

Platform Overview: ZigOps as a Data Integration Platform

1. Unified Dashboard

  • Provides a centralized view of all active integrations, jobs, execution history, success rates, and error reporting.
  • Real-time visibility into how each configured workflow is performing.

2. Connected Systems

  • Enables configuration of connections to various ITSM, DevOps, and monitoring tools.
  • Supports a wide range of platforms including Micro Focus Operations Bridge, TOPdesk, Jira, ServiceNow, and more.
  • Uses validated templates that ensure systems are configured correctly before integration setup begins.

3. Configurator and Workflows

  • Prebuilt templates allow rapid setup of integrations.
  • The system supports multiple workflows per integration (e.g., events, incidents, change requests, configuration items).
  • UI-driven—no scripting or coding required.

4. Actions and Field Mapping

  • Users can configure each integration with a series of actions such as "Create", "Update", "Resolve".
  • Supports webhook listeners and polling for data collection depending on the system.
  • Robust field mapping engine with conditions, transformations, and value overrides.
  • Offers fine-grained control over what data is transferred and how it's formatted on both ends.

Live Demo Summary

Integration 1: Micro Focus Operations Bridge → TOPdesk

Use Case: Event-to-Incident Synchronization

  • ZigOps detected an event in Micro Focus and created a corresponding incident in TOPdesk.
  • Ticket ID and direct URL were returned and linked back to Operations Bridge.
  • Bi-directional update sync:
  • Status changes, comments, and severity levels reflected instantly across both platforms.
  • Completion of the ticket in TOPdesk automatically updated the event status in Operations Bridge.

Highlights:

  • Demonstrated end-to-end event lifecycle automation.
  • Showed how ZigOps supports traceability and real-time updates in cross-platform environments.

Integration 2: TOPdesk → Jira

Use Case: Incident-to-Task Synchronization

  • A new incident in TOPdesk was auto-detected and used to create a task in Jira.
  • Direct URLs to both the Jira issue and the TOPdesk ticket were linked in each system.
  • Bi-directional update sync:
  • Status changes (e.g., "In Progress", "Resolved") and comments flowed in both directions.
  • Closing the task in Jira automatically resolved the TOPdesk incident.

Highlights:

  • Demonstrated agile collaboration between ITSM and DevOps teams.
  • Enabled visibility and communication between support and development functions.

Technical Strengths of the ZigOps Data Integration Tool

  • Highly Scalable: Multiple integrations and jobs can be managed within the same environment. Supports horizontal scaling across multiple nodes or hosts.
  • Extensibility: New data types and connectors can be added based on custom enterprise requirements.
  • No-Code Design: All configurations are performed through an intuitive user interface.
  • Built-in Validation: Ensures all system connections are tested and functional before data transfer begins.
  • Real-Time & Scheduled Sync: Supports both real-time event-based sync and scheduled polling.

Questions & Answers

Q: How many workflows can a single integration include?
A: Unlimited. Each integration can include as many workflows as needed to support the use case (e.g., syncing events, changes, incidents, or CIs).

Q: Is ZigOps scalable, and does it require custom development for complex use cases?
A: Yes, it is built for scale. Most use cases can be handled through the existing UI, but ZigOps can extend its support matrix to accommodate new features or platforms as needed.

Q: Can change records be synchronized with Jira as well?
A: Yes. In addition to incidents, ZigOps supports synchronization of change records, service requests, and other entities, as long as they are part of the supported systems’ data models.
