Freshdesk Jira Integration video with ZigiOps
Transfer Jira tasks and Freshdesk issues instantly
In this video, we walk you through the full process of integrating Freshdesk with Atlassian Jira using ZigiOps – a powerful no-code data integration platform. Whether you’re using an iPaaS or on-premises setup, ZigiOps ensures a secure, fast, and seamless integration experience — with no coding required and zero changes to existing applications.
Step 1 – Installing ZigiOps
Get started by installing ZigiOps in less than five minutes. Whether you’re using the cloud or on-premises version, ZigiOps makes setup effortless. As a no-code data integration tool, it doesn’t require changes in your existing systems and adheres to strict data security standards — no data is stored.
Step 2 – Exploring the Dashboard
Upon logging in, you’ll land on the ZigiOps Dashboard, your control center for monitoring integration health, license status, system activity, and more. It’s designed for efficiency, clarity, and ease of use — making it simple to manage complex integrations.
Step 3 – Adding Connected Systems
Navigate ZigiOps' intuitive menu to add Freshdesk and Jira as your connected systems. As a flexible data integration platform, ZigiOps supports a wide range of systems and provides metadata auto-collection to assist with field mapping.
Step 4 – Connecting to Freshdesk
Use your Freshdesk instance URL and API key to connect. Optional proxy settings are available for enhanced security. Once submitted, ZigiOps automatically verifies the connection and pulls in available metadata fields from Freshdesk.
Step 5 – Connecting to Jira
Connect Jira using your instance URL, username, and password (or token). Ensure your Jira account has permissions for creating and updating issues, assigning tasks, browsing projects, and transitioning tickets. Proxy login is also supported.
Step 6 – Using Integration Templates
Choose a ready-made template from ZigiOps’ extensive library or build your integration from scratch. These templates are entirely customizable, allowing you to configure ticket-to-task workflows effortlessly — perfect for any use case involving Freshdesk and Jira.
Step 7 – Configuring the Integration
In our use case, we:
- Set Freshdesk as the source system
- Set Jira as the destination
- Choose entity types (Freshdesk ticket → Jira task)
- Define correlation logic and synchronization rules
ZigiOps enables syncing of multiple fields such as reporter, priority, transitions, keys, and more, making it a robust data integration tool for real-time issue resolution and collaboration.
Step 8 – Action Levels & Customization
ZigiOps supports these key actions:
- Create a Jira Task from a Freshdesk Ticket
- Update Jira Task
- Update Freshdesk Ticket
Using polling triggers, ZigiOps scans Freshdesk at your chosen intervals (seconds, minutes, hours). You can set trigger conditions and use custom expressions to avoid duplication and ensure only new tickets are processed.
Advanced Field Mapping
Gain full control of your integration by mapping fields like:
- Summary
- Description
- Priority
ZigiOps allows conditional expressions for advanced filtering, ensuring only the necessary data is transferred and updated between systems. With bi-directional syncing, changes in Jira reflect in Freshdesk and vice versa.
Update Jira Task & Freshdesk Ticket
Each update action comes with configurable triggers and expressions. These settings ensure your service desk and DevOps teams are always in sync with real-time status updates — enhancing visibility and efficiency.
Finalizing the Integration
Once all settings are in place, click Save to activate the bi-directional sync. From this point, every Freshdesk ticket and Jira task stays synchronized, streamlining collaboration between support and development teams.
