OBM ServiceNow Integration with ZigiOps video
Event/incident exchange in Micro Focus OpsBridge and ServiceNow
In this video, we walk you through the process of integrating Micro Focus Operations Bridge Manager (OBM) with ServiceNow using ZigiOps — a powerful, no-code integration platform available both on-premises and in the cloud. With just a few easy steps, you can enable seamless, real-time, bidirectional data flow between your monitoring and ITSM platforms.
What you’ll learn in this guide:
Step 1 – Setting Up ZigiOps
Choose the deployment method that fits your environment:
- On-Prem: Install ZigiOps locally after checking system prerequisites
- Cloud: Simply log in to the ZigiOps UI — no installation required
Once inside, the Dashboard gives you a comprehensive view of integration status, license usage, and access to integration templates.
Step 2 – Connecting OBM (OpsBridge)
Navigate to Connected Systems and provide:
- OBM Instance URL
- Username and password
- RTSM and downtime credentials
Click Save and Test to validate the connection and automatically retrieve metadata from OBM.
Step 3 – Connecting ServiceNow
Enter your ServiceNow instance details:
- Instance URL
- Authentication type (Basic Auth or OAuth)
- Username and password
Test the connection to ensure successful integration readiness.
Step 4 – Selecting a Template
Choose a built-in template for OBM → ServiceNow integration, or upload a custom one.
Templates support common use cases such as OBM Event to ServiceNow Incident and are fully customizable.
Step 5 – Configuring the Integration
Define your integration flow:
- Source system: OBM (event-based)
- Target system: ServiceNow (incident-based)
Supported actions include:
- Create Incident
- Update Incident
- Fetch Incident
This ensures that every critical event in OBM translates into a properly tracked incident in ServiceNow.
Step 6 – Setting Field Mapping & Web Listeners
ZigiOps' built-in Web Listener detects OBM events in real-time and forwards key data to ServiceNow, including:
- Short description
- Event state, urgency, and impact
- CMDB references
Listeners also receive updates from ServiceNow, keeping both systems in sync at all times.
Step 7 – Fetch & Backsync Mechanisms
Enable automated syncing via:
- Fetch Incident: OBM actively pulls updates from linked ServiceNow incidents
- Backsync: ZigiOps polls ServiceNow for changes and syncs them back to OBM
Field mappings are fully configurable — easily add, remove, or adjust fields based on evolving business needs.
Final Step – Activating the Integration
After configuration is complete, hit Save and activate the integration.
ZigiOps will immediately begin syncing events and incidents, ensuring unified visibility and faster incident resolution.
