In this guide, we walk you through the seamless integration of Dynatrace with VMware vRealize Operations (vROps) using ZigiOps – a powerful no-code integration platform. This setup enables automated, real-time synchronization between your application performance monitoring and infrastructure operations layers — all without writing a single line of code.

What you’ll learn in this guide:

Step 1 – Installing and Accessing ZigiOps

Begin by installing ZigiOps (if not already installed). After logging in, you’ll land on the intuitive Dashboard where you can view the status of your licenses, connected systems, and integration health at a glance.

Step 2 – Connecting Dynatrace and vROps

Navigate to the Connected Systems section and add both Dynatrace and vROps:

• Dynatrace: Provide the instance URL, integration user, and API token

• vROps: Provide the instance URL, integration user, and password

Run connection tests to ensure both systems are successfully linked and responsive before proceeding.

Step 3 – Loading the Integration Template

Head over to the Configurator tab and select the predefined Dynatrace → vROps template.
Include your connected systems in the configuration and tailor the integration to your needs by customizing:

• Field mappings

• Sync intervals

• Trigger conditions

Templates can be edited to fit specific requirements, enabling highly flexible data flows.

Step 4 – Activating the Integration

Once configuration is complete, activate the integration directly from the ZigiOps UI.
ZigiOps will now begin automatically transferring relevant data – such as host and infrastructure details – from Dynatrace into vROps.

Step 5 – Verifying the Integration in vROps

Switch over to vROps and refresh your virtual machine (VM) properties.
You’ll see updated host data from Dynatrace, enriched with additional attributes and relationships, now fully visible in vROps thanks to ZigiOps.
