This guide walks you through the full process of integrating ServiceNow with VMware vRealize Operations (vROps) using ZigiOps, a no-code integration platform that supports real-time, bi-directional synchronization between ITSM and infrastructure monitoring environments — with no coding or scripting required.

Common Use Cases:

  • vROps Custom Groups → ServiceNow VM Instances
  • vROps Topology → ServiceNow Topology Views
  • Enriching vROps with ServiceNow CMDB Data

Example: If a VM Configuration Item (CI) in ServiceNow includes assignment details, ZigiOps can push that data into vROps, where it becomes a new “servicenow” property on the matching VM object.

Step-by-Step Integration Setup:

Step 1 – Install ZigiOps

Choose your deployment type:

  • iPaaS (Cloud) or
  • On-Premise

Installation takes under five minutes and doesn’t require changes to existing systems.

Step 2 – Log in to ZigiOps

After login, the Dashboard provides a centralized view of:

  • Connected systems
  • System health
  • Active integrations
  • License information

Step 3 – Connect to ServiceNow and vROps

Navigate to Connected Systems, then:

ServiceNow Connection:

  • Instance URL
  • Username & Password
  • (Optional) Proxy settings

VMware vROps Connection:

  • Instance URL
  • Username & Password
  • (Optional) Proxy settings

ZigiOps tests and validates connections, then collects metadata from both systems.

Step 4 – Load or Import Integration Template

Use a predefined integration template such as:

  • Topology Enrichment
  • CMDB-to-vROps Sync

Templates are fully editable and support:

  • Custom field mapping
  • Trigger logic
  • Filtering by specific systems (System A/B)

You can also import custom templates or build a new integration from scratch.

Step 5 – Define Entities & Correlation Logic

Specify how VMs should be matched between ServiceNow and vROps using identifiers like:

  • VM Name
  • IP Address
  • System ID

Correlation ensures accurate mapping of Configuration Items (CIs) across platforms.

Step 6 – Configure Actions & Sync Frequency

ZigiOps supports multiple action levels:

  • Sync New Changes Only
  • Sync All Properties

You can define:

  • Trigger intervals (e.g., every 30 seconds)
  • Conditions for when and what data is exchanged
  • Filters for targeting specific entities

Step 7 – Save & Activate the Integration

Once configuration is complete:

  • Click SAVE
  • Activate the integration to begin automated, real-time data synchronization

ZigiOps ensures ServiceNow and vROps stay aligned — whether it’s for VM property enrichment or maintaining an up-to-date topology map across systems.
